2016
2018

My name is Jessica Hooser and I am a child of God with a desire to live my life for His great pleasure. I'm married to an Army soldier and this has given us the chance to move around frequently and to experience new things that many others do not have the opportunity to do. I'm also a homeschooling mom of five (the fifth is due to arrive any day as of Jan 29, 2018 (Arrived Feb 6th!)). I love hunting down excellent curriculum and customizing it to fit my kids strengths and weaknesses. I enjoy home life very much. Painting is my creative outlet while I have small children.

When I was little, I enjoyed drawing pictures, mostly of horses, and during my preteen and teenage years, my mom delved into oil painting with the help of Bob Ross books. She let my sister and I try our hand at it a few times, and due to the smell of oils (Especially the paint thinner) and the time it took to set up and finish a piece, I didn't stick with it. I also developed a craze for horses and that took up much of my time, but horses are not an easy hobby with young kids! They are still one of my favorite things and I fully intend on having a few again someday, but not just yet.

Fast forward to 2016, my wonderful husband knew I had an interest in art. He set up an opportunity for me to join in on an acrylic Paint Nite while we lived in Columbia, SC. I so thoroughly enjoyed myself, that I started to use my daughter's highchair as an easel and painted a few pieces at home. A friend asked me to paint something for her (and offered to pay for it too!) and I was absolutely hooked! With that sale and one sold to my mom for a present for my brother, I had enough money to buy an art easel, and I have been painting ever since.
